A nurse for 30 years, Julie Halford specialises in Sclerotherapy & Hyperhidrosis. She founded the Support Group in 2003 at the suggestion of a dermatologist, and since then has devoted a great deal of time to running the Group and sharing her expertise. Julie personally answers all individual requests for advice or information, and she regularly addresses groups of dermatologists and dermatology nurses, to update them on the latest treatments. She has also written several clinical papers on the subject of hyperhidrosis.
A business training consultant in her ‘day job’, Hilary became involved with the Support Group eighteen months ago through working with Julie on other projects. She helps with admin and accounts, so that Julie is able to focus more on the medical aspects. The new website has taken over her life recently, as she has designed and managed the project from start to finish as well as writing much of the content.
Jenna is an undergraduate finalist student at the University of London. She has suffered from hyperhidrosis since she was just 5 years old, and has tried iontophoresis and medications without success. She now controls her symptoms through Botox injections, and happily has regained a lot of her life! Jenna has helped to update our mailing list and she ably authored several sections of the new website. Jenna also created our slogan "Dedicated to helping you live with Hyperhidrosis". Her contribution has been invaluable.
Steve contacted us 4½ years ago with an offer to help, being a hyperhidrosis sufferer himself and having experience of struggling alone with his symptoms, until he discovered what a great source of information the internet and such support groups are. He took over emailing out the periodic newsletters – a mammoth task, as the mailing list has grown to nearly 5000 email addresses, and we have been enormously grateful for his help! Steve started a Facebook page, and he has set up his own hyperhidrosis forum. In this he is enthusiastically aided by Megan Churm, a teen volunteer who is keen to help others.
